What a joy it was to be a part of the traditional Vietnamese wedding of these two beautiful people: Thao & Kye! From the very first moment they reached out to us to their wedding day, they were nothing but kind, welcoming and completely in love with each other. It was wonderful getting to know them, their awesome friends and family! But it was also a total treat for us to be their photographers because everything about their wedding was different than what we’ve experienced before.
Instead of an engagement shoot, we did a pre-wedding session: creative portraits with the couple and their entire wedding party. And we’re absolutely in love with that shoot (check it out here)!
Their wedding day consisted of two traditional Vietnamese ceremonies: first at the bride’s house, and then at the groom’s. They were absolutely beautiful ceremonies: intimate, romantic, and full of laughter and tears. We then went to New Fortune Restaurant in Gaithersburg, MD for Thao & Kye’s wedding reception. There are no words to describe what a fun time it was, but… luckily, we got photos! We were crying-laughing going through the final gallery and the toughest part was selecting only a few for this blog post.
