The actual wedding of Thao & Kye is in August. When we were planning the engagement photo shoot, Thao suggested that we do a (pre-) wedding portraits session instead – creative portraits with just the couple and all the bridal party photos. We absolutely loved the idea!
We all met up at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial early in the morning and got to really enjoy the Tidal Basin without the crowds of tourists. It was very quiet and peaceful and wasn’t too hot yet so we could shoot in the sun. It was totally worth waking up at 5.30 am on a Saturday.
After we got the outdoor portraits, we went to the Library of Congress to get some creative indoor shots. Thao wore the white wedding gown, as well as the traditional/ceremony dress (absolutely gorgeous!).
We always recommend our couples to do an engagement session so we can get to know each other and practice poses prior to the big day. It makes a huge difference on the day of the wedding! Doing the pre-wedding session with Thao & Kye also allowed us to get to know them, as well as the wedding party, but also gave us the opportunity to get really creative without any time constraints. We had a lot of fun and absolutely enjoyed working on Thao & Kye’s gallery. Super excited for their wedding in August!
